A 10-year-old boy was murdered in Gosainganj police station area on Sunday. The boy’s body was found lying in an open field. The boy was identified as Satyam, son of Ramujagar Dwivedi, a resident of Sathvara village.
Ramujagar along with his wife Archana had gone to attend marriage of his niece in Barabanki leaving behind his eldest daughter Mandankini (13), son Satyam (10) and younger son Shivam (7).
However, when he returned home at around 1am on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday, he found Satyam missing. Ramujagar launched a manhunt but failed to get success. He even went to Rakesh Rawat’s house where marriage was being solemnised. Dejected Ramujagar returned home. At 5 in the morning, villagers spotted Satyam’s body in Malhu’s field with noose made from Satyam’s shirt tightened around his neck.
On receiving the information, Ramujagar’s family and the police also rushed to the spot. After preliminary investigation, the police sent Satyam’s body for the post-mortem.
Ramujagar in his complaint lodged with the police named Rinku, Dheerag and Anshu from the same village behind his son’s murder. The police have taken two of the three accused in custody while the third one is said to be absconding.
SP (rural) Pratap Gopendra Yadav said that the police are waiting for the post-mortem report to ascertain the exact cause of Satyam’s death.
