Aashiana police arrests two bikers, recovers three stolen motorbikes

Two professional motorcycle thieves were arrested by Aashiana police late Friday during its routine checking in the area. Apart from the two stolen motorbikes which the two men were riding at that time, the police also recovered one more motorbike that the duo had lifted from Lucknow’s Shardanagar area four months back.

According to the information provided by CO Cantt Harendra Yadav, the police during its routine checking in Sector-G of Aashiana stopped two men riding two separate motorbikes on Friday night.

The duo was asked to produce the registration papers of the motorbikes for checking. They failed to provide any papers of the bikes and were held under suspicion. On being interrogated, they admitted that they stole the two motorbikes from Gomtinagar and Indiranagar area of the capital few days ago.

The accused told their names as Sharif, resident of Gomtinagar area, and Usman, a resident of Unnao district, CO Yadav said. They also admitted that they had earlier lifted a motorbike from Rajnikhand in Shardanagar and parked it inside the Charbagh railway station parking.

Later, the police took them to the spot where the motorbike was parked and recovered it. They also revealed their modus-operandi to the police officials and said that they used to pick their targets from crowded places in the city and after unlocking the motorbike with a master key they used to steal it. Police also recovered the master key which the two motorcycle lifters used to use to unlock the vehicle.
