After a day of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s declaration to ban Rs 500 Rs 1000 notes, Lucknow witnessed problems in routine life:
*Almost all dispensaries were not able to give change after some hours, either people were compelled to buy stock worth Rs 500 or Rs 1000 or they were asked to give change.
*The petrol pumps also due to absence of change money were filling fuel worth Rs 500/Rs 1000
*None of the stores were ready to accept the above notes and hence despite both sellers and buyers present in the market, there was minimum transaction.
*On burial grounds also availability of change posed problem, people had to buy commodities worth Rs 500/Rs 1000
*Maximum private hospitals refused to accept the Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes claiming the announcement of denomination acceptance by hospitals for next 72 hours was meant only for government hospitals.
