Another daylight robbery, this time in Agra of worth Rs 46 lakh

In a second broad daylight robbery incident in last 36 hours, four-wheeler-borne robbers intercepted the car of a businessman’s staff snatched Rs 46 lakh on gunpoint and fled in Agra district on Tuesday. On Sunday afternoon, seven gun-wielding robbers had struck at jeweller’s shop in Mulayamnagar locality in Ghazipur police station are of Lucknow and had fled with cash and jewellery from the shop.
Even as the police in Lucknow was groping in dark about the incident, miscreants struck on Etmadpur highway, robbed victims of Rs 46 lakh and fled. However, criminals’ act was recorded in a CCTV camera installed at a nearby petrol pump.
The police are now trying to ascertain the identity of the robbers through the CCTV footage. According to Agra police, Amit Agrawal, a resident of Ferozabad and a businessman had sent his staff Ramlal and driver Babool to withdraw money from Kamlanagar’s ICICI bank in Agra. After withdrawing money, the two were returning back on a car when on Etmadpur highway, a Bolero driven miscreants intercepted their vehicle. Thereafter, gun-totting robbers took Rs 46 lakh from them and fled. On receiving the information, the police team including senior police officials rushed to the spot and began investigation into the incident. The police have lodged a case of robbery and taken the CCTV footage in their custody and trying to zero in on the criminals.
