Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Kaushal Kishore once again was threatened to be killed, this time over the phone from an unknown man on Thursday. The BJP MP had earlier in November 2015 also received similar threats through a MMS sent by a man, who had claimed that he is a member of the Islamic State (IS) terrorist group.
An FIR was lodged in the Kakori police station in connection with the death threats Kishore received on Thursday and the caller’s mobile number has been put on surveillance to gather more information about him, police officials said.
The BJP MP from Mohanlalganj told the media that he received a call from an unknown man on Thursday evening on his mobile number. The caller first asked for Kishore’s introduction and when the latter told him that he is a MP, the man started hurling abusing at him.
Later during the call, the accused later told Kishore that he is going to die soon. The MP disconnected the call and later when the caller tried to call him again he didn’t pick the phone. He immediately informed the Kakori police about the incident and lodged a complaint against the unknown man for threatening to kill him.
Later on Thursday, CO Malihabad Javed Khan confirmed that a police case has been registered and the mobile number from which Kishore received the threatening call has been put on surveillance. Once the police tracks down the caller, stringent action will be taken against him for threatening a MP, CO Khan assured.
The MP from the centre-ruling party had earlier also received similar death threats through a MMS in Lucknow’s Mall area. The man in the MMS had claimed that he is a member of the IS terrorist group and an FIR was registered in the case. The police had arrested a crazy man from UP’s Sitapur district in connection with the threatening MMS case.
