Body found floating in Gomti was of a BBD University student

The body found in Gomti river on Wednesday has been identified as that of Abhishek Yadav, a BBD University student pursing BBA course. Abhishek’s body was identified by his uncle Prem Chand. Abhishek , according to the police, is a resident of Azamgarh. Prem Chand on reading about the recovery of a body from Gomti in newspapers went to the mortuary and identified the body as that of his nephew.

Circle Officer Sarojininagar Rajesh Yadav told media persons that 22-year-old AbhishekIMG-20160506-WA019 was the son of Jagdish a block employee. Abhishek was pursing his studies from BBD University and was living with his uncle at LDA Colony in Krishnanagar.

A first year BBA student, Abhishek on April 4 had gone to Parag Crossing market but didn’t return home. His uncle and other family began searching for Abhishek but in vain. On Thursday, Prem Chand lodged an FIR of missing.

However, when the news of a body of a youth found floating in Gomti was published in newspaper, Prem Chand went to the mortuary and found that it was none other than Abhishek.  According to Prem Chand, Abhishek was under depression and might have committed suicide by jumping into the river.
