A 47-year old and Chief Operating Officer of Encyclopaedia Britannica, Vineet Whig, committed suicide by jumping from the 19th floor of the building he lived in Gurugram late on Sunday. Whigs father on hearing the news suffererd from heart-attack and he has has been admitted to a hospital.
Hawa Singh, ACP, Gurugram Police said that a note was found from Vineet Whig’s pocket stating that he was fed up with his life. Police further told the media persons that Whig lived with his father, wife, two sons and a daughter in an apartment in Block-D of DLF Belvedere Park, phase-2 area and allegedly jumped off from the top floor of the tower and was spotted by security guards of the building in a pool of blood at 8 am.
His suicide note said, “I am taking my own life, no one is responsible. I am unable to cope. I am sorry. I am depressed. I see no way out except for suicide. Yes, I am a coward. I should have faced life.”
