A team, comprising six senior officials of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), arrived in Uttar Pradesh’s Buladhshahr district early Friday to investigate the case involving the gangrape of a Noida woman and her teenage daughter in the fields near NH-94 last month.
The CBI team from New Delhi will visit the spot on NH-94 where the incident took place and try to gather more evidence in the rape which was carried by members of a criminal gang when the victim’s family was going to attend a funeral procession of a relative in Shahjajahapur.
After its arrival, the six-member CBI team led by officials of SP rank, went to the PWD guest house, where arrangements were made for its stay. The CBI team had already summoned officials of the Bulandhshahr police at the guest house and on arriving was given a detailed briefing by them about all the developments made in the investigations of the gangrape case.
According to sources, the CBI team will later on the day visit the spot near NH94 where the incident took place on July 29. If needed, the team will also carry out investigations with the six men who were arrested by the local police and are accused of carrying out the heinous crime.
Earlier, the Bulandhshahr police had arrested six members of Saleem Bawariya gang, including the gang leader, and had charged them of kidnapping the victim’s family from the national highway and taking them to a desolate area and raping the 35 year-old woman and her teenage daughter at gunpoint. They also looted cash worth 11,000 rupees from the members of the family which lives in Noida.
