Came to enjoy vacations at Nani’s house, four-year-old girl found murdered in pit at Malihabad

A four-year-old innocent girl, who went missing since Wednesday morning, was found murdered in a pit at a village in Malihabad police station area of Lucknow on Wednesday evening. Police are interrogating four persons of the same village after family members expressed doubt over their role in the murder of innocent girl.
According to the police, four-year-old Shivani, daughter of Brijesh, a resident of Hardoin, had come to his maternal grand father’s house at Jhandatala village of Malihabad about four days back. At around 5 in the morning, her maternal grand mother had gone to attend nature’s call. IMG-20160518-WA042However, when her grand mother returned she found Shivani missing from the bed.
Family members launched a frantic search for the girl but in vain. The family members then approached the Malihabad police and accused Harishchandra, Rajesh, Shanker and Phoolkali of the same village for kidnapping the four-year-old girl. The police registered a case of missing, detained a few persons and sat silent over the case. Interestingly, once the report was lodged, the police even let go the detained persons.
However, the family members continued to search for the girl. At around 9pm on Wednesday, the villagers spotted the dead body of the girl in a pit at a field in the village. The news spread like wildfire. Soon villagers began to assemble at the spot.
The police led by circle officer Javed Khan also reached the spot. After initial investigation, the police sent the body of the girl for the post-mortem examination. Suspicion is that the girl was murdered by strangulation. Family members have accused a few villagers of murder following a dispute over land. Khan told media persons that the exact cause of the murder would be ascertained after post-mortem report is received.
The villagers are also annoyed with the police over the slow action in the case.
