Congress candidate selection for Vidhan Sabha poll after team PK report, 7 teams to visit 14 divisions from May 8

In a bid to revive Congress sinking fortune in the state, Prashant Kishore and his team would begin an extensive visit to various parts of the state beginning from May 8. While Congress ‘poll guru’ Prashant Kishore, popularly known as ‘PK’ would be on a four day tour of UP from May 10, his seven teams would fan out across the state and visit 14 divisions of the state.
During their visit, team PK would be meeting leaders from the district units, heads of various frontal organisations and would even hold one-to-one interaction with the leaders. Team PK would also meet senior Congress leaders, former MPs, former MLAs and aspiring candidates for the Lok Sabha and vidhan sabha seats. The team would visit Devipatan, Basti, Azamgarh, Faizabad, Mirzapur, Chitrakoot, Jhansi, Kanpur, Saharanpur, Merrut, Aligarh, Agra, Moradabad and Bareilly divisions of the state. After meeting the Congress members, team PK would submit the reports from all the divisions before Congress general secretary and UP in charge Madhusudan Mistri, UP Congress chief Nirmal Khatri and poll strategist Prashant Kishore, communication vice-chairperson Virendra Madan said.
According to sources, candidates selection for the vidhan sabha election would be done after reveiwing the report of the team PK only.
Between May 10 and May 14, team PK would be discussion the report from Gorakhpur, Varanasi and Allahabad divisions with Prashant Kishore. The report has been made by the team PK following their visit between April 26 and May 3 earlier.
