Contractor close to Munna Bajrangi attacked assistant commissioner for taking Rs 10 lakh but not doing his work

A contractor close to mafia don Munna Bajrangi along with aides had attacked Assistant Commissioner, Awas Vikas, at Chinhat a few days back. UP STF on Monday arrested the contractor along with his four aides and recovered a pistol, rifle, base-ball bat, hockey and the car used in the crime. According to the UP STF sleuths, the assistant commissioner had allegedly taken Rs 10 lakh in lieu of making him secretary of a society. However, the assistant commissioner had not made him secretary despite taking the money.
According to circle officer, Gomtinagar Satyasen Yadav, on May 12, miscreants had attacked assistant commissioner, Awas Vikas AK Shukla, a resident of Vikalp Khand in Chinhat police station area. Injured Shukla had lodged an FIR against unidentified miscreants. Gauging the seriousness of the crime, along with Chinhat police, help of STF sleuths was also sought.
STF with the help of surveillance came to know that a contractor Yogendra, a resident of Nehru Enclave and believed to be close to Munna Bajrangi was behind the attack. After this, STF team nabbed Yogendra along with his aides Brijesh Singh, a resident of Pratapgarh, Anshu Singh, a resident of Rae Bareli and Rajkumar Singh, a resident of Charbagh. The STF sleuths recoverd the car, used in the crime, along with weapons from their possession.
On interrogation, STF came to know that the assistant commissioner had taken Rs 10 lakh in exchange of getting him appointed as secretary of a society. However, the assistant commissioner did not do Yogendra’s work despite taking money. Yogendra was asking for his money, STF sleuths quoted the miscreants. It was because of this that Yogendra along with aides attacked Shukla.
The arrested accused had also made attempt to murder on May 15 in Mahanagar and Gudamba on March 3, the STF sleuths said.
