A Lucknow police cop’s honesty not only brought accolades to the department, but also saved a trader from losing cash and foreign currency. Constable Arun, who is posted at Munshi Puliya, got a purse carrying India currency worth Rs 5,000 and foreign currency worth dollar 170 and several ATM and credit cards.
Constable Arun told TosNews that he got a purse on Faridipur Road on Sunday morning. Unable to search for the owner, Arun opened the purse and also found a Adhar Card. As per Adhar Card details, it belonged to Siddharth Singh of Indira Nagar. Following which, the constable got deposited the purse with cash at Ghazipur police station. He himself then went to Siddharth Singh’s house at Indira Nagar. Siddharth Singh told him that his purse fell from the pocket on Saturday night.
Arun then told him that his purse was safe and had been deposited at Ghazipur police station. The trader then reached Ghazipur police station where constable Arun handed him over the purse along with cash and valuables.. Happy to get back his lost purse, the trader praised the Luckow police.
