Ex-village pradhan goes missing from Aminabad hotel in Lucknow

A former village pradhan of Balrampur district has been reported missing under suspicious circumstances from a hotel in Aminabad police station area. Family members lodged an FIR of missing at Aminabad police station.
However, police claimed that he might have gone somewhere on his own.
According to reports, 35-year old Balrampur district resident, Afsar Ali, who is a former village pradhan had come to Lucknow on May 7 to buy some items and medicines and was staying at Central hotel in Aminabad. When he didn’t return home even after two days, his family members called him up on his mobile number but both his mobile phone were switched off. Family members then rushed to Lucknow and launched a search to trace him but in vain.
On Tuesday, they approached Aminabad police station and lodged a complaint.
Station Officer Aminabad Jaykaran Patel told media persons that after investigation, it is yet to be ascertained that whether Ali checked out of the hotel on 8 May afternoon or he really went missing. When police saw CCTV footage, it looked that Ali was going outside from hotel at about 1:30 pm. Family members also told the police that he once went to Mumbai secretly to meet his father. Police are now relying on surveillance to trace out his last location.
The matter was being investigated, the police said.
