In a sensational incident, unidentified miscreants opened at lest one round of fire on the vehicle of a retired judge, hardly a few hundred metres away from Chief Minister’s official residence on Kalidas Marg. Fortunately, no casualty was reported the empty shell of the cartridge pierced through the windscreen and fell on the car seat.
The incident brought Gautampalli police station on toes as the incident happened a few hundred metres away from the high-security CM’s residence. According to Surendra Katiyar, the station office Gautampalli, at around 4.30pm the retired judge was going to airport from his residence on his vehicle being driven by driver. At the same time, there was Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav’s movement, for which traffic was stopped for some minutes.
Driver of the retired judge then turned the vehicle towards the road adjacent to Golf Course ground. No sooner than the car reached Lawn Tennis Academy, a bullet hit the car windscreen and fell on the car seat.
On hearing the bullet sound, the driver immediately stopped the car and saw the bullet shell on the seat and informed the retired judge who then made a SOS call to police control room. The police rushed to the spot and began investigation into the incident and took the bullet shell into its custody.
The station officer said that prima facie the bullet looks to have been fired from a rifle. As of now, the police have registered a case against unidentified miscreants.
