In a sensational incident, a woman was found murdered on a cart a few metres away from SSP office in front of planetarium under Wazirganj police station area on Friday. However, the incident remained under wraps until TosNews correspondent came to know about the incident. An FIR in the sensational incident has been lodged against unidentified persons.
Ever since the murder of the woman, her step son is reported to missing giving weight to the police officials that he could be aware of the incident and might throw some light on the incident if he comes forward.
SP (west) Sarvesh Misra told TosNews that the deceased Maya Devi was the second wife of vegetable seller Kailash, a resident of Madiaon. She had married her a few months back. However, on Friday, Maya Devi was found on a cart. Nearby residents informed the police about the incident. The body bore several injury marks. The police sent her to Balrampur, where doctors declared her dead.
Interestingly, the police recovered a hospital prescription of Madiaon area from the woman’s possession. With the help of the prescription, the police reached the hospital from where the police came to know about the woman’s address.
When the police reached Maya’s residence, her daughter and husband told the police that she had fallen ill suddenly on Thursday night. Maya’s step son Suresh had taken her to hospital for treatment. Suresh had told the family members that Maya’s condition was very serious and after which, Suresh’s mobile was switched off.
After collecting the information, police received the post-mortem report which stated that Maya died due to injuries on body and head. Based on the report, police on the complaint of a ward boy of Balrampur hospital lodged and FIR against the unidentified persons. SP (west) told TosNews that in the whole incident, the role of Suresh is looking suspicious. The police are searching for his whereabouts. Truth would come out once Suresh appears before the police, the SP (west) said.
