Huge amount of fake cement and the machinery which was used to produce it was also recovered from the site. The arrested factory owner used to mix fly ash in discarded cement and is accused of selling the final product in the local market at standard price.
SO Para Amit Tomar, while giving details about the incident, said that the Crime Branch officials on Wednesday received information about a fake cement factory being run in the eastern Dinkheda area. They passed on the information to the officials at Para Police station and a joint team was formed to raid the factory.
Factory’s owner Arjun Yadav was arrested from the site during the raid. The police team also recovered 101 sacks of poor-quality cement, 230 sacks of fake cement, 439 sacks of fly ash, scale and other material which was used to produce the fake cement.
On being interrogated, factory owner Yadav confessed his crime and told the police that he used to buy discarded cement from laborers for a nominal amount as low as Rs 100. Explaining the production process of the fake cement, he said that in the factory the discarded cement was crushed and filtered and mixed with fly ash to make it look like freshly produced.
The culprit used to sell nearly 80-100 bags per day of the fake cement in local market for price as high as Rs 320-330 per bag, officials said. To avoid getting caught, Singh used to pack his product in bags carrying labels of prestigious cement brands like – ACC, Prism, Champion, Jaypee and others.
