Major fire broke out at a cloth showroom on Friday late night at Aliganj.
SO Aliganj informed that Deepu Gupta resident of Indira Nagar is a owner of cloth shop located in Dandaiya, Aliganj area of Lucknow. It is stated that at around 10 pm Deepu closed his shop and went home. Next to his shop he has converted 2 other shops into godown. The complex owner saw fumes rising from Deepu’s shop around 12 at night and he immediately informed the police control room and the shop owner. Aliganj police and two fire brigades from Indira Nagar fire station reached the spot. Looking at the fierce fire later one more fire brigade from Hazratganj fire station was called. People gathered at the place and helped the firemen. At around 4 a.m the firemen were able to take control of the situation. As per the policemen and firemen the reason behind the incident was short circuit yet the investigation is on to find out the accurate cause. The shop owner Deepu informed that being the festive season time his shop was loaded with stock and estimated loss is nearly Rs 20 lacs.
The fire brigade could not reach the spot on time as the roads were blocked due to some religious programmes. The firemen had to take another route costing extra 30 minutes and the fire turning fierce.
