A minor’s body was found floating in Indira Canal near Chinhat area on Thursday morning.
SP North Vijay Dhull informed that people who saw the body floating near Indira Canal regulator in Juggaur locality, informed the police control room. After the body was brought out with public assistance, the police asked locals to identify him but nobody could recognise the boy. After investigation the body was sent for post mortem. The minor had back head injury which indicated strike from the back. The police is assuming that he was attacked from the back and then thrown into the canal. The minor was wearing a full sleeve purple T- Shirt and blue jeans.
SO Chinhat stated that the body seems to be two- three days old. All the police stations of the capital were informed to proceed with identification of the body while Chinhat police also informed Barabanki Police and DCRB.
