Former Indian cricketer Chetan Chauhan appointed as new NIFT Chairman

Ex-cricketer and two-time Bharatiya Janata Party MP, Chetan Chauhan has been appointed the chairman of National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) by government. He is also vice-president of the Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA).

Chauhan said that he got the role because of his 23 years of experience in banking.

“My fashion sense is not being flamboyant but well dressed. I am not dashing fashion-oriented because I have to go with what suits my age. But I like to dress up smartly and well,” he told to Indianexpress.

When asked how he plans to balance the multiple roles, Chauhan said, “I will spend 60 percent of the time in DDCA, 30 percent at NIFT and 30 percent in my business,” he said.

Chauhan will remain in this position for a period of three years. However, Twitterati can’t stop laughing after his appointment and lots of tweets posted that has evoked humour on Twitter.
