Dead body of a girl living with a sweet seller was found in a drain in Bazarkhala police station area on Thursday. The police quoting sweet-seller said that she was suffering from epilepsy and this could have been the reason that she fell into the drain this morning. Bazarkhala police, however, is trying to trace her family members.
Circle Officer Bazarkhala Ramkumar Agrawal told media persons that at Gulzarnagar area, Hardoi resident Guddu Awasthi has been living in hut at an edge of a drain.
He sells revri at Charbagh Railway station. A 22-year-old Sangita, a resident of Ghaziabad also lived with him for the last one month. On Thursday morning, while Guddu went to Charbagh to sell sweets, Sangita was at the home.
After a while, people heard a splash sound in the drain. People present there rushed to spot and saw Sangita has fallen in the drain. Nearby residents informed the police control room. Police reached the spot immediately and somehow managed to take out the girl from the drain. However, by the time she was taken out, she was dead.
Guddu also reached the spot. After preliminary investigation, police sent her body for the post-mortem.
According to Guddu, Sangita used to live in a hut near Ghaziabad railway station area. According to Guddu, he met her one month back at Charbagh railway station. She was wandering just like that at the station at that time. She had a dispute with her family and she left her house. Guddu then gave her shelter at her house.
