Three persons including father-son duo were killed when they rammed the motorcycle on which they travelling
Police on Monday nabbed a drug smuggler and recovered 450 gram of marijuana (charas) hidden inside the helmet in Gomtinagar police station area. The marijuana is estimated to worth lakhs of rupee in the international market.
According to station officer Dhirendra Shukla, a police team was involed in routine checking when it spotted a youth sitting on his motorcycle at Ambedkar Crossing in a suspicious manner. The youth tried to flee on his bike when the police team tried to stop him.
A police team chased him and nabbed him.
On frisking, the police recovered 450 gram of marijuana wrapped in a polythene and hidden insider the helmet, he was wearing. The youth identified himself as Sachin Gupta, a resident of Lakhimpur Khiri. The police have also found a number of Nepal in youth’s mobile phone. Based on which, the police are assuming that the youth might be bringing drugs from Nepal and then selling it in India. On interrogation, Sachin has not revealed much, the police said.
