According to SP (rural) Gopendra Yadav, Sarojini had married twice and had left her first husband. Thereafter, she fell in love with one Santosh of her village and began living together. Around 3 to four months back, they both even got married.
On Friday evening at around 4, Sarojini left the house to attend nature’s call and went missing thereafter. When she didn’t return home after long time, family members began searching for her. At around 6 in the evening, her half-charred body was found near the village. Prima-facie it looked that she was strangulated and was burnt to hide the identity. The police rushed to the spot and sent the body for the post-mortem examination.
Though the police are as of now investigating the murder on all possible theories, the Gosainganj police have come to know that because of Sarojini’s relationship with Santosh, her uncle Ramkishore was unhappy and had on several occasions threatened to kill her. Santosh alleged that Sarojini was killed by her uncle only. The police have launched a manhunt to trace her uncle.
