Indian Air Force Wing Commander Pooja Thakur has moved to the court on being denied permanent commission by the IAF.
Last year, Pooja Thakur became the first lady officer to lead the Inter-Service Guard of Honour which was inspected by US President Barack Obama at Rashtrapati Bhavan.It is a proud moment to be representing the Indian Air Force commanding the Inter-Services Guard of Honour and that too to Mr Barack Obama, Thakur had said.
Thakur joined the IAF in 2000 and belongs to the administrative branch. The officers father retired as a Colonel from the Indian Army She also added that her parents felt proud when they first heard that she will be commanding the Guard of Honour. They were very proud because they would be seeing me and hoping that I would do well. Presenting Inter-Services Guard of Honour to an important dignitary is a proud moment for everyone of us, she had said.
