What would surely give the Opposition enough fodder to take on Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led NDA government at the Centre, Minister of State for HRD Prof Ramshanker Katheria stirred up another controversy saying that if saffronisation and sanghwaad are in the interest of the nation, it would be implemented. What’s the harm if it is in the interest of the country, Katheria said.
Katheria was speaking at Lucknow University AP Sen Hall to mark “Hindvi Swaraj Diwas Samaroh’ marking the 342nd coronation year of Shivaji.
“I am saying there will be saffronisation in education and in the country. Whatever is good will definitely take place. Be it saffronisation or ‘sanghwad’, if it’s good for the country then it will definitely take place,” Katheria said.
“If the children will not study the history of Maharana Pratap and Subhash ji, then will they study the history of Genghis Khan? Those who fought for the Indian freedom struggle got inspiration from Maharana Pratap, who sacrificed himself for the nation,” he said.
Text books were written by Historian with vested political interest, he said and added whatever is best for the country would be done.
