No one but senior police officials know better than anyone else to what extent Cantt resident three brothers — Salim, Rustam and Sohrab — can go to accomplish their mission — murder.
Flash back: The three brothers first came to limelight when before committing murders of three meat-sellers, they informed the then SSP about each of the murders.
Since then they have never looked back and have taken killing contracts from many persons. Last, their name also came to light in the murder of an old city resident Saifi.
A former minister of state ranked politician from Old City then was found to be involved in giving contract for Saifi’s murder. Saifi was shot dead near district inspector of schools office in Lucknow.
Cut to 2016. Salim, Sohrab and Rustam hire shooters to eliminate Zaid, himself a property dealer and son of a fruit-seller in Bazarkhala police station area.
Five persons were arrested. They informed the police that Salim had hired shooters to eliminate Zaid, who according to them was allegedly involved in illegitimate relation with some woman known to him. What has become a matter of concern for the police is that every time a conspiracy is hatched by the three brothers it is mostly when they come to court for trial in some or the other case.
Presently, the three brothers are lodged in high-security Tihar jail in New Delhi after they killed a businessman and robbed jewellery worth crore of rupees.
Interestingly, Salim had hatched the conspiracy to eliminate Zaid in Kanpur, where he had come for hearing from New Delhi.
Now, the Lucknow police wants to an end to all the activities of the three notorious brothers. While their hearing in Lucknow is now done through video conference from the jail itself that puts a check on their movement until the court, the Lucknow police wants that physical presence in UP courts is restricted by ensuring their hearing through video conferencing.
SSP Manzil Saini said that a letter to the senior police officials would be written in which information would be given about how the network of the three brothers is growing and how they hatch a conspiracy when they come to court for hearing from New Delhi. “I would be demanding complete ban on three brothers’ physical presence in the court and would suggest their hearing in the case concerned be done through video conferencing,” Saini said.
