A man wanted in the murder of Zafar Khan in Mumbai was arrested by a joint team of UP STF and Mumbai Crime Branch from Vibhuti Khand police station area on Sunday. Police recoverd an voter ID card, mobile phone and some cash from his possession. The man was identified as Sayyed Jurgam Mehendi, a resident of Ambedkarnagar district in Uttar Pradesh.
Khan was murdered on September 23, 2015.
Mumbai police informed UP STF about Zafar Khan’s murder and that four accused have been arrested in the case. During the course of interrogation, it was found that Jugram Mehendi had hired the four for the murder of Khan. An FIR was lodged at Kurla police station. After his name cropped up in the case, Jugram fled.
On a tip-off Mumbai police along with UP STF nabbed Jugram from Shaheed Path. Mumbai police would seek a transit remand of Jugram from the local court. Jugram already has 9 cases against him at his native district of Ambedkarnagar.
Lucknow Crime Branch and the Jankipuram police team arrested 2 people involved in murder and loot
