A mobile shop employee hanged himself to death in Gomti Nagar area on Tuesday. Police said
A 40-year-old private company employee locked his wife and his kids in a room and then committed suicide by hanging himself to a fan at his house in Vibhuti Khand area late on Sunday night. The deceased was identified as Nandan Lal Sharma, a resident of Vibhuti Khand area.
Sharma’s son called up his grand father, who then rushed to the spot, informed the police and brought sharma’s wife and two kids out of the locked room.
The police have sent the body for the post-mortem examination.
According to police, Sharma had locked his wife Anita and two kids. One of the kids identified as Nitin made a phone call to his grandfather Mitthu Lal, who along with other family members rushed to spot and took out Anita and two kids from the room. When they entered inside other room, they spotted Sharma hanging from the fan.
According to police, Sharma, who was working with a Reliance company, had been involved in some sorts of family dispute and this could be one reason why took the extreme step. The matter was being investigated, station officer Vibhuti Khand Satyendra Rai said.
