Minor faces cops’ ire, beaten mercilessly, let go after paying Rs 7,000 bribe

In yet another case of police high-handedness, a 17-year-old boy was beaten black and blue by two police constables in Para police station area for reasons not known to the victim. The boy was identified as Aman, whose father works as mason. The cops beat him up so brutally that Aman is now unable to walk.
SSP Manzil Saini on being informed about the incident, have suspended a cop Irshad and has even ordered filing of an FIR against the guilty policeman.
According to Aman’s family, on Friday morning, their neighbour Sonu called up Aman on phone and asked him to come at Para Crossing. When Aman reached the crossing, two cops waiting there began beating Aman and asked for some mobile.
The cops then took Aman and Sonu to the police station. They beat them up in the police station also, Aman claimed. However, Sonu was let after he allegedly paid Rs 2,000 to the cops.
The cops continued with their behaviour against Aman and demanded Rs 7,000 for his release and even threatened to sent him behind bars. Aman then called up his elder brother Alankar, who is a tailor. Alankar somehow arranged Rs 7,000 only then Aman was let go.
On Saturday, family members of Aman knocked at SSP’s door.
SSP after listening to Aman’s woes, suspended the guilty cop Irshad and directed Para police to lodge an FIR against the cops. The matter was being investigated.
