A property dealer named Sachin was shot dead by two unidentified men in the Aashiyana colony’s Banglabazar area on Sunday night, police said. The victim received three bullet injuries on his chest and died on his way to the trauma centre.
The gunmen, who were riding a motorcycle, after killing the property dealer fired few shots in the air and fled the scene. The police, while investigating the case, came to know that an attempt to murder on the the victim had been made earlier also.
Two months ago, two of Sachin’s cousin brothers, who are nephews of a BSP leader, had a dispute with him over some issue and had tried to kill him by firing shots at him. Luckily, the man escaped unhurt that time and his father lodged an attempt to murder case, following the firing incident at a local police station.
According to the information provided by the Aashiyana police, Sachin was an adopted son of retired bank official Ashok Shukla, who lives in Aashiana’s Bhadruk area.
Apart from dealing in selling, buying and renting of properties, the 28 year-old man also used to work as a controller in Rice Mandi, located in Banglabazar. In the incident that happened on Sunday night, the victim, along with his two friends, was standing near an eatery joint in the Banglabazar area.
Sachin’s friends told the police that two men, riding an Avenger motorcycle, entered the area and stopped their motorbike at some distance. They waived at Sachin and asked him to come close to them.
The property dealer, who was totally unaware of their motive, started moving towards them and as he reached closer was shot thrice in his chest. As Sachin fell on the road all drenched in blood, the gunmen fired few shots in the air and fled the scene.
The friends of the deceased man immediately informed the police and his family members about him being shot in Banglabazar. Sachin’s family members rushed him to the nearby civil hospital from where he was referred to the trauma centre as he was bleeding profusely. He was declared brought dead by the doctors at the trauma centre.
Meanwhile, SP North Vijay Dhul, along with Circle Officer Cantt and officials appointed at the Aashiana police station, after receiving the information about the killing of a property dealer in Banglabazar, reached the spot and inspected it. The officials had found four empty shells from the spot and are trying to get a sketch prepared of the men who killed Sachin.
