Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, his father and Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav jointly inaugurated the new hi-tech CM office costing Rs.602/- crores. Matching the size of 6 football stadiums, the new CM office is situated bang opposite Vidhan Sabha building, at Darulshafa, Lucknow.
The office architecture is based on Vastu Shastra and its total area is over 6 acres. Around 6,000 labours worked day and night to complete the work which started in March 2014. The building, according to UP RNN MD R.K Goel is hi-tech as it has latest technical facilities as wi-fi,CCTV, escalators and paperless working. The building is resistant to terrorist incidents and is on power saving mode, with only LED lights. The campus has features like rain water harvesting,tubewell and WTP/STP.
Interestingly, the new office named as Lok Bhawan would accommodate 1340 employees and has adequate parking space for four and two wheelers in the basement area. Post inaguration, the Chief Minister said that the state government has focused its attention on development of the state and said that the development work undertaken in last over four years would begin bearing fruits in future.
Citing example of development work undertaken, the CM said that Lucknow-Agra Expressway, Samajwadi Express Way and Metro networks being laid out in various cities would pave the path of development in future. He said that the new CM office would continue to taken people-friendly decisions like it had been taking earlier.
Interestingly, along with SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav, senior cabinet minister Shivpal Yadav and Mohd Azam Khan and Speaker Mata Prasad Pandey were present during the dedication of the Lok Bhawan to the people of the state.
