Police cane charge Biswan MLA’s supporters as LDA team razes illegal structure

Police used lathicharge to disperse the supporters of Biswan (Sitapur) Samajwadi Party MLA Rampal Yadav, when an LDA team tried to demolish his under-construction building flouting norms at Jiamau locality in Gautampalli police station area of Lucknow on Thursday. Later, LDA Engineer Alok Ranjan Gupta lodged an FIR against the MLA and his supporters for obstructing government duty, indulging in rioting and threatening the government staff.

The MLA was also slapped 7 Criminal Law Amendment Act. The MLA and his supporters were later also detained by the police. Though the police didn’t confirm whether any arrests had been made or not?

According to reports, kin of the MLA from the ruling party had got an building illegally constructed in the area. Officials from the LDA and the police team on Thursday decided to raze the illegal structure.
As they reached the spot, supporters of Rampal Yadav, who is two-time MLA from Biswan in Sitapur, clashed with the police. On receiving the information, SSP Rajesh Pandey along with additional police force also rushed to the spot and tried to pacify the MLA’s supporters.
However, unrelenting MLA’s supporters continued to stop the LDA team from demolishing the structure. The police then used mild lathicharge and disperse the supporters. The building was, later, however, demolished.
