A 27 year old son of a zardozi businessman allegedly tried to kill himself by firing a gunshot in his chest in the Saadatganj area of Lucknow late Saturday. The victim was immediately rushed to the trauma centre after his family members heard the gunshot and found him lying in a pool of blood in his room. The family members did not inform the local police about the failed suicide attempt of the man.
After being informed by local residents, the police reached the spot and found out that the weapon used by the man was illegal. While giving details about the incident, Saadatganj SO Shashikant Yadav said that 27 year old Feroz, son of zardozi businessman Nabban Mirza, who lives with his family in a house near Karbala Chauraha in Saadatganj, tried to kill himself by firing a gunshot in his chest on Saturday night.
On hearing the sound of the gusnhot coming from Feroz’s room, his family members rushed to his rescue and found him lying in a pool of blood there. He was immediately taken to the trauma centre for treatment.
According to the SO, the family members did not inform the local police about Feroz’s suicide attempt. The police was informed by the residents of the area, he said. Police officials say that the victim is a drug addict and suspect that this could be one of the major reason behind his failed suicide attempt.
However, the real cause of the suicide attempt is still not clear as Feroz is undergoing treatment and not in a condition to give any statement to the police. CO Baazarkhala Vimal Kumar, while making another shocking revelation about the failed suicide attempt case, said that during initial investigations it was found that the gun used by the 27 year old man was not licensed and is illegal. The CO added that once Feroz recovers and is in a condition to talk to the police, he will be asked about why he was possessing an illegal firearm and where did he get it from.
