Read: How miscreants target women bank staff in Lucknow and rob them of Rs 20 lakh cash

In a sensational broad daylight robbery, two motorcycle-borne miscreants snatched Rs 20 lakh cash kept in a bag from a class IV woman employee at Union Bank of India entrance gate near the bunglow of former CM Mayawati in Cantonment police station area.
At the time of the incident, another woman staff of the bank deputy manager Usha Chaudhary, who had accompanied the class IV woman employee Nirmala Devi from Kotak Mahindra Bank in Alambagh on her car to Union Bank of India was parking the vehicle. On receiving the information, senior police officials including IG Zone A Satish Ganesh, DIG RKS Rathore and SSP Manzil Saini rushed to spot. The police have launched frantic search for the miscreants, who fled the spot after hitting Nirmala with fisticuffs.
According to IG Zone, United Bank of India has a branch at Sadar area in Cantonment police station area. At around 11 am, deputy manager Usha Chaudhary along with Class IV staff Nirmala reached Kotak Mahindra Bank branch at Alambagh on her car. They took Rs 20 lakh from the bank and left on Usha’s car. At around 12 noon, Usha reached at the bank gate and began parking her car.
She asked Nirmala to take the cash inside the bank. No sooner than Nirmala moved towards the bank gate, two miscreants on a motorcycle reached at the spot and tried to snatch the bag from Nirmala. However, she resisted the move. Sensing trouble, the miscreants beat Nirmala up and snatched the bag and fled the spot.
Nirmala shouted for help. Usha also rushed to the spot. In the meantime, other bank employees also rushed to the spot. The broad daylight robbery in a bank forced top police officials from the city to rush to the spot. The police team including the Crime Branch team was pressed to nab the miscreants however in vain.
The IG directed the police team to nab the miscreants and directed the police from other districts to help in nabbing the miscreants.
