Officials from the Saadatganj police station have exposed a huge gambling den being run in an abandoned house in Kashmiri Mohalla area of old Lucknow and during a raid have arrested 29 men who are accused of running it.
The police also seized some cash, mobile phones and motorbikes from the spot during the raid conducted late Friday. While giving details, SP West Sarvesh Kumar Mishra said that the police on Friday night, received information regarding the running of a huge gambling den in an abandoned house, whose owner’s name is Ishrat, at the Takiya Haji Nusrat area.
According to the SP, 29 people were found gambling inside the house at the time of raid. Police recovered cash amounting to two lakhs, 27 mobile phones and 13 motorbikes at the spot. A man named Yusuf used to run the illegal gambling den and used to arrange bets on a commission basis, SP Mishra said.
Other than the gang leader Yusuf , who resides in Saadatganj, the names of the arrested men during Friday’s raid are as follows: Yunus, Gayaash, Asif, Anil, Ashraf, Jivan from Chowk, Munna, Akhtar, Vishal, Arshad, Shivnaam, Faizu and Mujiburrahman, Iqbal, Ziaul, Noor-ud-Deen, Munees, Nadeem from Saadatganj, Sameer, Abdul Wahab, Rishi Rastogi, Imran, Satyam from Thakurganj, Ikram, Zafar Iqbal, Khalid, Kausar and Imtiaz from Bazarkhala..
