In an apalling incident of suicide in Uttar Pradesh’s Auraiyya District, a woman killed herself and her three little children by consuming poisonous tea early Tuesday. The family members of the deceased woman have put the blame of her death and her children on her in-laws.
The husband’s family, however, flatly denies the accusations and claims that the poisonous substance in the tea might have been mixed, accidentally.
While giving details to the media about the incident, local police said that Ramchandar, who hails from Bela’s Amritpur village, used to work in Delhi and his deceased wife Rani, along with their three children, used to live with his parents in his native village.
According to police officials, Rani on Tuesday morning prepared the poisonous tea and first served it to her three children – 8 year-old Mithlesh, 5 year-old Ram Kanhaiyya and 3 year-old Upasana – and later consumed it herself. The mother, her two sons and a daughter died on the spot after consuming the poisonous tea.
The news of death of four of a family spread across the village and all the villagers were in a state of shock after the incident.
Police on receiving the information reached the spot and sent dead bodies of the women and her three innocent children for post-mortem. It also took Ramchandar’s mother and father into custody for investigation.
