There is a cash prize of Rs 50,000/- on the ringleader of the busted gang, Avinash Tripathi an escapee. Police is making efforts to arrest the ringleader. According to ASP Transgomti Jayprakash, accused Surendra had gone to Nepal to meet Avinash some months back. The arrested accused informed that they had met in jail only and after that the formed gang started robbery together. A gun has been recovered from Surendra, which he had taken from a criminal of Unnao.
As per SP North, Vijay Dhul materialised robbery incidents very cleverly. The criminals sitting in the vehicle, except the driver posed themselves as passengers. The victim was made to sit in the vehicle with a proposal of sharing the fare. In different police stations, 19 cases are registered against Surendra only.
Chinhat police with the help of crime branch, claims to have arrested 3 persons of the gang involved in robbery of passengers. According to the police, the arrested accused made people sit on vehicles from bus or taxi stands and robbed them on Highway or Shaheed Path. They even hit the people badly in case of being opposed. The police has recovered mobile phone, chain, laptop and other objects from the accused. The arrested men have accepted their involvement in many robberies in Lucknow and other districts.
Saraswatipuram, Faizabad resident Abhishek Singhal was waiting for vehicle near Kamta on Friday night to go home when he waved at a car passing by. Before he could understand anything, he was pulled inside the car by the miscreants and was taken to Gomtinagar Extension via Shaheed Path. In a remote area they took away his 2 chains, 2 mobile phones, bag and other belongings. Since passers by had witnessed Abhishek’s kidnapping, information had immediately reached to the Modern Control Room and after sometime the victim also called the police. According to SSP Manzil Saini, after the incident the police team started its investigation and on Saturday with the help of surveillance, 3 accused involved in it were arrested.
CO Gomtinagar, Satyasen Yadav informed media persons about the arrested robbers who are- Surendra Pal from Barabanki, Arvind Pal from LDA Colony, Ashiyana and Arun Yadav from Banthara. Surveillance in-charge Akshay Kumar told that 10 mobiles, 2 chains, a locket, a car used in robbery, 2 ATM cards, a laptop and a bag have been recovered from the accused. There were clothes and other objects in the bag. CO Ghazipur informed that the accused have accepted their involvement in kidnapping and robbery case of Mau resident Dr. Omkar Singh. The criminals had kidnapped him at Polytechnic crossing and robbed him at Shaheed Path. They also revealed that they generally target highway, taxi and bus stands.
