In yet another case of attack on the police in Uttar Pradesh, cattle smugglers hit a police sub-inspector’s two-wheeler from behind leading to his death in Jaupur district on Friday morning. The police swung into action and launched a manhunt to trace the smugglers in a white van car.
According to SP Jaunpur Atul Saxena, Trilok Tiwari, a native of Bihar, was posted at Sarai Poktha police outpost. In the wee hours of Friday morning, he was checking the vehicles when he spoted a vehicle of cattle smugglers.
The S-I began to chase the smugglers. In the meantime, some more cattle smugglers came on a white van car and hit the two-wheeler of the sub-inspector. The hit was so intense that the S-I received severe injuries. On receiving the information, the police rushed to the spot and rushed Tiwari to nearby hospital from where he was referred to Benaras Hindu University (BHU). However, the sub-inspector died on way to BHU.
Swining into action after the death of the S-I, the police have launched manhunt to nab the accused.
