Remark on accused’s appearance led to the murder of Chennai’s techie

In a shocking statement P Ramkumar, the main accused of Swathi murder case has made a preliminary confessional statement to the police that the victim had verbally abused him about his physical appearance which enraged him. The accused made this statement in Tirunelveli government medical college hospital where he was recently admitted.
P Ramkumar, who was picked up from his house in Meenakshipuram village in Sengottai in a late night operation, attempted to end his life. He was taken to the government hospital after being given first-aid. He later underwent surgery at the hospital.
Police sources said that the victim and the accused were not completely stranger to each other. The two have exchanged chats on social networking sites and were in possession of each other’s phone numbers. “Though she was a friend on the social networking site, she did not encourage him and did not respond to his comments. Ramkumar tracked her activities and kept stalking her on Facebook and later came to Choolaimedu,” said a senior police official.
