Scenario of coalition or no coalition in U.P

Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh is maintaining a silence on the coalition issue while his brother and State SP chief Shivpal Yadav has asked all prominent parties to stand united against BJP in the coming elections. Shivpal also said that national leadership of Samajwadi Party and Netaji (Mulayam) will take a call on possible alliances. Akhilesh Yadav, on the other hand said that he has no idea of coalition with any of the parties. He however stated that the decision of coalition only lies with Netaji, i.e Mulayam Singh Yadav. .
On the starting day of Vikas Rath Yatra of SP, both Shivpal and Akhilesh gave different statements on coalition.
However earlier Rahul Gandhi made it clear to the Samajwadi Party that he is willing to consider a joint fight if Akhilesh.
The Samajwadi Party wants to do a Bihar in Uttar Pradesh by forging a successful “grand alliance”. An alliance will help counter challenge from BJP, Mayawati in UP polls. But, Bihar chief minister and Janata Dal (United) leader Nitish Kumar may have just put a stop to all the coalition talk.
Kumar, whose JD (U) is crucial to the alliance, has set an impossible condition — the SP should join hands with archrival Bahujan Samaj Party for the alliance to materialise.
“Any grand alliance in UP will only take shape when the SP and the BSP are together,” Kumar had stated earlier this year.
Kumar, who will skip the silver jubilee function of the SP on November 5 and has asked general secretary KC Tyagi to represent the party, said moving out of Bihar at the time of Chhath Puja was not possible. With Sharad Kumar and KC Tyagi to attend the bash it seems that Nitish has ruled out coalition talks with Samajwadi Party for now.
