After the shocking attack at Istanbul airport in which 41 people were killed and 239 were injured, security have been tightened at all the sensitive airports in the country. However, no alert has been sounded yet, sources said.
Passengers have to undergo at very minor security checks, they have to take off their footwears and belts and go through detailed frisking.
At major airports of Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmadabad, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Cochin, local police and CISF have ensured a tightened security at all the level. Passengers are observed minutely with risk-based secondary Ladder Point Check which entails frisking people before they enter the aeroplane.
