Nothing is as powerful as time. At BJP headquarters, it was evident how time changes the fortune of a person. Until a few days back, not in reckoning and known as one of the many leaders in UP BJP, newly-appointed Keshav Maurya was at centre stage announcing the party’s Rajya Sabha and Vidhan Parishad nominees.
Came to the mainstream politics after a hiatus of over 15 years, BJP’s state vice-president Shiv Pratap Shukla was announced as Rajya Sabha nominee of the BJP. Interestingly, before this, Shukla was virtually in the oblivion ever since he locked horns with influential firebrand Gorakhpur MP Mahant Yogi Adityanath.
Shukla came back into active politics and got recognition as BJP’s state leader during Maurya’s predecessor Laxmikant Bajpai as he was appointed UP BJP vice-president.
Since then luck has favoured him as in a surprise move, the BJP declared Shukla as RS nominee ending chances of BSP discard Jugul Kishore as BJP’s RS candidate.
Jugul Kishore will have to wait for another opportune time. Time changed the fate of West UP BJP’s chief Bhupendra Chaudhary, who until Monday morning was regarded as a west UP leader of the BJP. However, Maurya announced his nomination for MLC seat bringing the Jat leader into UP politics.
Last but not the least, until a few days back, the man who was calling all the shots in the UP BJP and grabbed all glare, was seen waiting for red light to turn green riding pillion at Hazratganj Crossing with a BJP worker on a two-wheeler when Maurya, hardly a few metres away insider the BJP office, was grabbing all the media attention inside the BJP office almost at the same time.
Politics is all about symbolism and opportune time!
