On Friday, July 22, he turned 9 years of age. But his family couldn’t celebrate his birthday because of poor financial condition. On Saturday, his body was found in drain in semi-nude condition, leading to speculation that he might have been sodomised and killed. Injury marks were found on the rear side of his body.
The boy identified as Vipin, son of Ved Prakash Sharma, went missing from Alinagar Sunahara locality in Krishna Nagar on the evening of his birthday. His father, a carpenter and other family members launched a frantic search to trace Vipin but in vain. On Saturday, his body was found at Nagwa drain in Banthra area.
According to circle officer Rajesh Yadav, unable to trace Vipin, family members reached Krishna Nagar police station and loged an FIR in this regard. The police also launched a manhunt but couldn’t find any trace.
On Saturday, some people informed that deadbody of a boy had been found at Nagwa drain in Banthra. Sharma and other family mebers rushed to Banthra. The police were already at the spot and were fishing out the dead body when Vipin’s family members reached the spot. They immediately identified the body. Banthra police then informed the Krishna Nagar police which also along with CO Krishna Nagar Rajesh Yadav also rushed to the spot.
Injury mark was found on the back side of his head. Vipin was wearing only a light blue underwear and his vest was missing. The eye witnesses suspected it to be a case of sodomy and murder. The body was later sent for the post-mortem examination.
On receiving the information, Vipin’s mother lost consciousness.
Vipin was a very brilliant child, however, his father couldn’t continue his education due to financial constraints. Only this year, Sharma had got him admitted in Class I.
Information about Vipin’s body was given by a doctor at Lal Hospital.
Since Vipin’s family members were searching for him, they had even gone to see Vipin at Lal Hospital. A hospital staff from Harauni informed the doctor that the dead body of a 9 year old boy has been found in Nagwa drain. Since Sharma had come searching for Vipin at Lal Hospital, the doctor informed about the dead body at Banthra to Sharma. It was after this Sharma identified the body of his son.
