Was it fear of losing Muslim votes that kept Rahul away from ‘Swami’? 

Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi on Friday visited Lord Hanman, ‘the sevak’ but stayed away from “Ram Lalla, the Swami”. His visit to Hanumangarhi temple of Ayodhya on Friday has thus evoked sharp reaction from saffron outfits. VHP questioned Rahul Gandhi’s move of not visiting “Ram Lalla,” the deity installed at the disputed site, “Is it the fear of losing Muslim votes that he skipped the visit,” said VHP spokesman Sharad Sharma.
Rahul’s visit to Hanumangarhi and offering prayers to `Hanumantlala’ would go `unrewarded’, said member of Ram Janmanbhoomi Nyas, Mahant Suresh Das of Digambar Akhada. Congress VP Rahul Gandhi had visited Hanumangarhi temple on Friday but chose not to go to the Ram-temple at the disputed site, about a km away from Hanumangarhi.
VHP spokesperson Sharad Sharma said, “That makes Rahul’s Ayodhya Darshan incomplete.”
There’s a method to worship as has been laid down in the `shastras’, said Mahant Kamalnayan Das. “Lord Hanuman fulfills the wishes of everyone who seeks his blessings but it’s always the intent of the worshipper which is important.”
