Was BJP’s inspiration Rashtriya Swayemsewak Sangh (RSS) an anti-national organisation for 54 years as its head office at Nagpur never unfurled Indian tri-colour?
Raising the question while hitting out at BJP government at Centre on completion of two years, Congress leader Shakeel Ahmed said that it was surprising that unfurling of tri-colour and chanting ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’ were being made issues.
If RSS was anti-national by that standard, this meant that the BJP is taking inspiration from anti-national organisation, Shakeel Ahmad said. Hitting out Prime Minister Narendra Modi on global policy, he said that there were lots of talks on Pakistan and China before Lok Sabha election, however, in the two year regime of 56-inch chested Modi, there had been a total of 1124 ceasefire violation by Pakistan, the Cong leader said.
He said that for the past two years, only those universities which didn’t have ABVP elected representatives were on target, Ahmed said and cited example of JNU, Hyderabad University and Kashmir University.
Ever since the establishment of JNU in 1969, Left inclined ideology had been ruling the roost still Congress never made the university as its target, the Congress leader said.
He said that when GST bill was brought by the previous UPA government, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Arun Jaitley had staunchly protested against it, but now in government, the two all of sudden have agreed to it. Congress doesn’t change its stance, Shakeel Ahmed said and added if the Centre agrees to three demands, Congress has no problem in supporting GST.
Elaborating on three conditions, Shakeel said that at no cost tax should be above 17-18 per cent, party against 1 per cent tax to state governments and setting up of an institution to sort out disputed between state governments and Centre.
Modi has completely failed in foreign policy, the Congress leader said and added those who talked about bringing the severed head of Pakistan armymen have gone to Pakistan even without invitation. After Mumbai attack, because of UPA foreign policy, Pakistan was left alone, however, Modi has brought Pakistan at the same level now, he said and added a state leader cannot have knowledge on global policy.
Coming to Augusta Westland scam, Ahmed said that the deal was struck during Atal Bihari Vajpayee government. After coming to power, the UPA had blacklisted the company, however, once Modi government was in power, the company was de-blacklisted. Till now all the action were taken by the UPA government, the Congress senior leader claimed.
People had high hope with Modi government, but it has failed on all fronts, Shakeel concluded.
