A married woman was allegedly sold in Rs 50,000 to a few persons at Kakori where she was held hostage and gang raped. The woman somehow managed to flee from spot and approached an NGO members who then contacted SSP Manzil Saini.
The SSP after listening to the woes of the woman, called Mahila police station in charge Ruma Yadav and directed her to take action on her complaint. Swinging into action, the police on Wednesday nabbed five persons identified as Pacchu Lal and his son Santosh, both residents of Dauna village in Kakori, Rambabu and Harsh Sharan and Kamlesh, residents of Ahmednagar.
However, the middleman, who was somewhat known to the woman and allegedly sold the married woman in Rs 50,000, has not been arrested yet. According to initial reports, a man known to the woman had enticed her to come along with him to Kakori from Lakhimpur Khiri. There, he allegedly sold the woman in Rs 50,000. She was then held hostage and gang raped for two days. The woman however, managed to flee the spot and approached an NGO.
However, the arrested farmer Pacchu Lal told the police that he purchased the woman in Rs 50,000 as he wanted to marry his son with the woman. However, according to the police, the woman had come on her own to Lucknow about 10 days back.
For two days, she earned her living through some labour work. After that she was asking address of the railway station to return back to her house in Khiri when car-borne miscreants forced her into the car and gang raped her in a Kakori village. The police are investigating the matter.
