Police on Sunday finally arrested the prime suspect in a murder case dating back to the year 2011 in which a farmer
Two shocking incidents, involving a suicide and a suicide attempt of two young woman, rocked Lucknow, the capital city of Uttar Pradesh, on Monday.
In the first incident, a 20 year old young woman in the city’s Mohanlalganj area killed herself by hanging from the ceiling of her house. A suicide note was later recovered from the girl’s room by the police in which she took complete responsibility of taking the extreme step.
In the second incident, another 20 year old woman doused herself with kerosene oil and set herself on fire in Kotwa village of the city’s Bakshi ka Talaab (BKT) area on Sunday night.
According to information provided by Mohanlalganj police, 20 year old Sony Singh, daughter of Ramshankar Singh, who is a farmer by profession, hanged herself from a ceiling fain in her house located in Parval village on Monday morning.
Her family members were the first to spot her dead body hanging from the fan with a dupatta. They immediately informed the local police. Officials from the nearest police outpost rushed to the spot and during investigations, recovered a suicide note in the girl’s room.
In her suicide note, Sony had taken complete responsibility for taking the extreme step and ending her life, officials said. Meanwhile, relatives of the deceased woman claim that she was suffering from a prolonged illness and that might have been be the reason why she killed herself. Police have sent her body for post-mortem and launched an investigation in the case.
In the second incident which happened in Lucknow’s BKT area, 20 year old Kumkum doused herself with kerosene oil and set herself on fire at her home late Sunday. The victim is the daughter of farmer Budhram, who lives in Kotwa village of BKT.
The young woman after setting herself on fire in her room started crying and screaming loudly. Kumkum’s family members rushed to her rescue and somehow were able to extinguish the fire.
Later, she was admitted to a nearby hospital for treatment. According to the doctors at the hospital, Kumkum had suffered 80% burn injuries and her condition is still critical. The reason behind the suicide attempt of the young woman in BKT is still not clear, police officials, who are investigating the case, said on Monday.
