Youth missing since April 30, found murdered over illicit relation

A 21-year-old bi-cycle shopkeeper, who was missing since April 30, has been murdered. He body was found in a sack in a drain at Aurangabad area on Friday. His friend has been taken into custody with regards the murder.
Circle officer Cantonment Harendra Kumar said that Gurpreet Singh, a resident of Rajnikhand in Ashiana had a bi-cycle shop in the locality. On April 30, he all of sudden went missing. Despite frantic search, his whereabouts could not be ascertained.
Failing to trace him, Gurpreet’s family members lodged an FIR of missing on May 2. During the investigation, the police found Gurpreet’s friend Amit, a resident of Sector D, Ashiana doubtful. On Friday, he was detained for interrogation. During interrogation, Amit first tried to deviate police towards some other direction, however, when he was told that his mobile location and that of Gurpreet were found to be same, he admitted committing his friend’s murder.
On his tip off, the police were able to trace the body that was found in a sack thrown in a drain. Amit told the police that he murdered Gurpreet on April 30 itself. Until the investigation so far, illicit relationship looks to be the cause of murder.
